The Job: Assistant Space Merchandising Planner
WHO'S RIGHT FOR THE ROLE?
You have a strong background in a commercially focussed visual and range planning role. You have a flair for visual merchandising design and display, using sales and market trends to innovatively display products. You have an understanding of on-shelf merchandising and range management, working across micro and macro processes. You can work pragmatically with cross-functional teams and have a good balance of commercial and analytical focus. You can demonstrate successful delivery of strategic merchandising using sales information, forecasts and market trends.
WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
- Own and manage the visual merchandising and planograms for all Ryman promotions
- Use the SEYC Apollo software across both Store and Space Planning to create capture and update planograms and floor plans
- Support the Merchandising Planner to Produce effective and accurate planograms for the Ryman retail estate, designed to maximise store sales and profitability
- Support the ranging of products in Ryman stores using Apollo software across both Store and Space Planning
- Provide Support to the Space Planning Manager for Fast tracks and any general admin and communications
- Provide support to Produce accurate planograms with correct ranges and dimensions to maximise sales and profitability utilising all Head Office, sales and market related data
- Provide Support in building plans in the mock shop effectively when creating visual guides
- Assisting with micro/macro space project activity, as and when required.
- Provide admin support with the range review calendar
- Ensure the category database is maintained with accurate product dimensions
- Assist the Trading Team with all other ad-hoc merchandising activity such as Planogram Updates, Category "Fix It's", reporting requests etc.
- Using BI reports Run and create Live Line Lists for all Range Reviews
- Regularly analyse competitor activity to review latest merchandising trends, POS and fixtures
- Visit Ryman stores to photograph live builds in stores and gain feedback from store teams
- Assist in the planning and scheduling of range reviews including capturing minutes in the range meetings
- Provide support to any additional projects / admin that the business sets
WHAT WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE IN YOU?
- Experience in a space planning visual display and design role in a fast-paced environment, preferably in the retail industry
- Knowledge of retail space planning principles, systems and process
- Working knowledge of a micro space planning software package - Apollo software experience an advantage, but knowledge of other packages considered.
- Attention to detail with the ability to work with and produce large volumes of data.
- Computer literate with good experience working with Microsoft office software.
- MS Excel to a high standard - conduct pivot tables, VLOOKUP etc.
- The ability to work within a team environment to achieve team objectives.
- Flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to produce and understand data.
- Flexible - able to assist with a variety of space planning projects.
- Have a track record of delivering results
